    What is FUNCTIONAL MASSAGE:
A comprehensive and integrative approach to soft tissue therapy, combining various techniques and modalities to restore function through holistic balance and address a wide range of physical and stress induced conditions.

Below is a list of our techniques and their potential benefits:

    1. Remedial Massage: This type of massage focuses on specific problem areas to address soft tissue injuries, relieve pain and tension, improve range of motion, mobility and restore function.

    2. Deep Tissue Massage: Massage techniques that target deeper layers of muscle and fascial tissue to release chronic muscle tension and pain to restore function.

    3. AromaTouch: This technique involves the application of essential oils to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support overall well-being.

    4. Relaxation-Swedish Massage: A gentle and soothing massage that promotes relaxation, stress relief, and improved circulation.

    5. Myofascial Cupping: This technique uses suction cups to lift and stretch the fascia (connective tissue) to release pain, tension and improve blood flow.

    6. Myofascial Dry Needling: Involves inserting fine thin needles into trigger points within the fascia and muscles to relieve pain, tension and improve muscle function.

    7. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): A gentle massage technique that stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to reduce swelling and promote healing.

    8. Stretch and Movement: Combining massage with functional movements can improve mobility, stability, flexibility, and strength.

    9. Pelvic Floor Muscle Therapy Training: This specialised therapy training targets the pelvic floor muscles to improve condition and function, particularly beneficial for pain, disconnection and incontinence.

The combination of these techniques allows for a versatile approach to address immediate relaxation, soft tissue injury recovery, decreased muscle tension and pain, improved circulation, lymphatic system stimulation, increased mobility, stability, flexibility, strength, pain relief, and stress relief.

It's essential to have qualified practitioners who understand the human body's mechanics and can tailor treatments to each individual's specific needs and conditions. This is where we come in.

    What is MYOFASCIAL CUPPING:
Myofascial Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine where special suction cups are placed on the body to eliminate trigger points, decrease inflammation and pain, increase blood flow, improve range of motion, promote wellbeing and relaxation, and reduce restrictive and sometimes painful adhesions (an abnormal adhering (sticking) of surfaces) from inflammation, injury, surgeries and scar tissue, repetitive movement, sport or stress.
The application of decompressed cups on the skin creates a vacuum effect that lifts up underlying connective tissues (fascia) and muscles that may be restricted. This encourages blood and other fluids close to the surface of the skin to promote repair and healing.
Myofascial Cupping can be provided as a stand alone treatment or within Remedial Massage.

    What is MYOFASCIAL DRY NEEDLING:
Myofascial Dry needling is a musculoskeletal procedure where a fine thin needle or acupuncture needle is inserted into myofascial trigger points within muscle and fascial tissue
Myofascial Trigger Points are hyper-irritable and/or hyper-sensitive and often painful palpable nodules within taut bands of skeletal muscle tissue which may cause pain, reduced range of movement in parts of the body, loss of muscle strength/ length/ flexibility, tense/taut muscle tissue, local ischemia (restriction of blood flow) or hypoxia (low oxygen level in body tissues).
The aim of this treatment is to reduce pain, improve range of movement, relax tense/taut muscle tissue, improve muscle strength and flexibility, and promote blood flow and oxygenation to muscles.
Myofascial Dry Needling can be provided as a stand alone treatment or within Remedial Massage.
